Marmaris  Castle

Marmaris Castle and the Archaeology Museum is the only huge historic landmark and the only museum in Marmaris. It is believed that Marmaris Castle was first built by the Ionians (1044 BC) and later on repaired during the era of the Alexander the Great. A fantastic day out at the site is also one the best things to do in Marmaris.

Worth a visit and not expensive.. Advice is go early in day before the heat kicks in. Whilst in the area, can also have a wander through the old town which is at the back of the castle and then onto the marina area.
